JMB Realty undertook the installation of a 431 kW rated photovoltaic (PV) system on the upper level of the Constellation Place parking deck in Los Angeles, CA and enlisted DMA to manage the project through the entire process, from identification and selection of the solar integrator - SPG Solar Inc. - through successful completion at the end of 2008, securing significant state and federal incentives. This expansive PV system deploys over 1,400 Schott panels oriented at 5 degree tilt over the split upper level of the parking deck and generates enough energy to offset over 12% of annual energy use and reduce daytime demand by up to 30% through the connected meter. Additionally, over 10 million pounds of carbon dioxide emissions will be avoided through the generation of onsite renewable energy and this new PV installation is the third largest in a city with over 1,400 PV systems installed.
